Malaysia-Based Research Writer
Budget: $3 – $10 NZD
Over the next few months I will be commissioning a series of research projects that need a writer who lives in, or has deep familiarity with, Malaysia. Subjects vary—social issues, emerging technology, and healthcare regulation are common themes—so the brief can swing from a tight literature review to a market-sized data analysis or a full-scale academic report.
The core task is to take a research question I supply, locate and evaluate credible Bahasa Malaysia and English sources (journals, government data sets, industry papers, news archives), then distill the findings into clear, well-structured English. Proper citation (APA or Harvard) and an executive summary are always required; charts or basic statistical outputs may be requested when the data supports it.
Typical workflow
• Clarify scope and methodology with me in a short call or memo
• Gather and vet sources, flagging any data gaps early
• Draft the narrative or report section by section for quick feedback
• Deliver a polished final document with references, tables/figures, and summary
Turnaround can be as short as two days for narrow briefs or up to two weeks for comprehensive reports, so flexibility matters. Please mention your strongest subject area, preferred research tools (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, R, Excel), and share one sample that shows rigorous analysis and clean writing. I plan to award the first assignment immediately and, if all goes well, keep the collaboration ongoing for future studies.
