Leadership and communicating with a multicultural crew
Budget: €10 – €50 EUR
Make a research question, and write a text about one or more of the following topics:
- Leadership
- Communicating with a multicultural crew
- Working with a multilingual crew
Examples of research questions (you are free to make your own instead):
- How to maintain authority as a leader without being authoritarian.
- Cultural differences – how to promote cooperation and colleagueship between workers of different
cultures.
- SMCP – how using a standardized language can promote understanding and communication on a
multicultural vessel.
- How to be a good leader in a crisis
To pass, all texts must contain:
- A research question / thesis
- References to reliable sources
- Examples of (factual or hypothetical) real-life situations on a vessel that is relevant to the research
question
Word count: 1000-1500 words
