Haiti-US Interference Thematic Notes
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I have already compiled a substantial bibliography of primary and secondary sources covering United States interference in Haiti from 1910-1940. What I now need from you is a set of research notes I can drop straight into my own drafting process.
Here is what will make the notes useful to me: each entry should keep the author, full citation, and page number visible, followed immediately by the exact quotation (or multiple quotations) that capture the point. Under the quote, add a concise one- or two-line paraphrase so I can see at a glance why that passage matters.
Please arrange everything by theme, not by the original works or by date. For this phase the only themes I want are Political Interference and Economic Impact—no need to stray into social or cultural angles. If a single passage straddles both themes, clone it so it turns up in each relevant section; don’t force me to flip between folders.
I will supply PDFs, scans, and stable URLs. Feel free to use any note-management workflow you prefer (Word, Google Docs, Zotero, Obsidian, etc.) as long as the final file is accessible without proprietary software. I am a footnote-heavy writer, so accuracy on page numbers and quotation marks is critical.
Deliverable
• A single document (or shared cloud file) containing the themed sections above, each populated with fully cited quotations and brief paraphrases drawn from every source in the bibliography provided.
If you are a graduate student or recent post-grad comfortable navigating both archival material and modern scholarship, this should be straightforward. Let me know your estimated turnaround time for the full bibliography once you have the files in hand, and we can set milestones accordingly.
