Financial Accounting Textbook Revision
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
The current edition of my financial accounting textbook needs a thorough refresh so it remains fully aligned with today’s standards and resonates with university-level students who rely on it for core coursework.
Your task spans two equally important areas:
1. Content refinement – every chapter must reflect the latest GAAP / IFRS updates, clearer explanations of key concepts and booking of transactions, refreshed numerical examples and t-accounts, and end-of-chapter questions that mirror current classroom expectations.
2. Formatting & layout – transform the manuscript into a modern, student-friendly format: consistent heading hierarchy, tables and journal entries styled for readability, updated graphics, and page layouts ready for digital and print output. Work can be done in Word or InDesign; final files should be fully editable.
Because conceptual accuracy is critical, an accounting degree and hands-on knowledge of financial reporting rules are non-negotiable. Experience editing academic material or professional texts will make the process smoother.
Deliverables
• Revised manuscript (DOCX or IDML) with tracked content changes
• Clean, typeset version ready for print and PDF release
• Style sheet summarising editorial and layout conventions applied
• Brief change log highlighting major accounting updates implemented
Acceptance criteria: all technical revisions must be verifiably correct under current standards and the formatted file must pass a pre-press check with no layout inconsistencies.
Please include a short note on your accounting background and any relevant textbook or academic editing samples when you respond.
