Female Academic Book Assistant Needed
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
I’m in the middle of turning several years of Humanities & Social Sciences research into a publish-ready academic book and I need a capable female assistant to see it through the last, demanding stages.
What you’ll actually do
– Draft fresh chapters from my outlines, expanding ideas in clear, scholarly English.
– Edit and proofread existing sections so the tone is consistent, the argument tight, and the citations flawless.
– Run targeted literature searches, pull key references, and compile structured notes that feed directly into each chapter.
This is not a first-book experiment: I plan to submit the manuscript to a reputable academic publisher, so prior experience with book production workflows—working with house style guides, preparing final files, liaising with editors, and managing revision cycles—is essential.
You will thrive in this role if you:
• Hold an advanced degree or equivalent background in the Humanities or Social Sciences.
• Command native-level written English and can demonstrate it through previous publications or ghost-written projects.
• Are comfortable working in Word/Google Docs with tracked changes, and can manage bibliographies in Zotero, EndNote, or similar tools.
• Communicate promptly, respect deadlines, and are happy to collaborate through regular video or voice check-ins.
Please share a short note describing your relevant publishing experience, two samples that highlight your academic writing or editing, and your general availability over the next three months. We’ll discuss compensation privately once we confirm mutual fit.
