Job ID: 40332814

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

The freelancer is expected to perform a comprehensive formatting revision of the full dissertation document. This includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

1. General Formatting and Layout
• Standardize page layout with symmetrical margins (e.g., 2.5 cm left/right).
• Ensure consistent formatting across the entire document (no variation in margins, fonts, or styles across chapters).
• Align all content centrally in terms of layout structure (no alternating margins or mirrored layouts).
• Ensure page numbers are consistently formatted, using the same font as the main text.

2. Page Numbering System
• Implement a clean and consistent page numbering system:
• Optional: Roman numerals starting from the table of contents.
• Arabic numbering starting from the introduction.
• Verify correctness and continuity of pagination throughout the document.

3. Removal of Non-Publication Elements
• Remove:
• Affidavits / sworn declarations
• Signatures
• Any content not intended for publication

4. Cover and Title Page Formatting
• Apply the official template (provided separately).
• Ensure:
• No word hyphenation on the cover or title page.
• Correct capitalization (APA title case for English titles).
• Proper formatting of subtitle (no colon or hyphen structures).
• Correct formatting of author name (no academic titles).
• Correct formatting of supervisors and affiliations.
• Differentiate between:
• Print version (no email, no abstract on cover)
• Online version (includes email and abstract on title page)

5. Table of Contents and Main Text
• Remove all visible hyperlinks or colored link borders.
• Ensure consistent capitalization style in headings (APA or sentence case).
• Standardize:
• Font: Georgia (main text), Verdana (headings)
• Spacing, indentation, and paragraph formatting
• Avoid:
• Running headers (page headers)
• Ensure continuous Arabic numbering (appendix does not require separate numbering).

6. Content Standardization
• Remove unnecessary personal information:
• Email addresses of co-authors
• Institutional addresses (except where strictly required)
• Ensure consistent formatting of:
• Headings
• Figures and tables
• References and citations

7. “Overview of Papers” Section (for cumulative dissertation)
• Integrate a structured overview table into the introduction chapter.
• Include:
• Paper titles
• Publication status (updated to most recent status)
• Bibliographic details
• Exclude:
• Co-author contribution descriptions

8. Final Quality Control
• Conduct a full review of the document to identify:
• Formatting inconsistencies
• Blank pages or layout errors caused by PDF conversion
• Typographical or structural issues introduced during formatting
• Ensure the final output is a clean, print-ready and screen-optimized PDF.
