Critical Physiology Paper Review

Job ID: 39930082

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I have a full-length manuscript that I plan to submit to The Journal of Physiology, and I need a sharp, expert eye on it before it leaves my desk. Please dissect the manuscript against the journal’s current Author Guidelines, paying special attention to four areas I am most concerned about:

• Methodology – rigour, reproducibility, and whether the experimental design is described with the depth J Physiol expects.
• Data analysis – statistical tests, effect size reporting, figure clarity, and transparency of raw data availability.
• Introduction – focus, grounding in the latest literature, and how convincingly the research gap is positioned.
• Discussion – strength of interpretation, link back to physiological mechanisms, and recognition of limitations without overstating impact.

Deliverables I need from you:
1. An annotated PDF (or Word track-changes) with in-line comments that pinpoint every issue, suggest concrete fixes, and flag any deviation from the journal’s formatting or reference style.
2. A concise review memo (1-2 pages) summarising major concerns, recommended revisions ranked by priority, and a checklist showing compliance with key Journal of Physiology requirements.

I am happy to answer any clarifying questions and will supply the latest guideline PDF upon project start. If you have first-hand experience publishing or reviewing for The Journal of Physiology—or a closely related physiology journal—please mention it so I can gauge fit quickly.
