Chicago Footnote Citation Audit & Fix

My Master’s thesis is finished but the citations still need a meticulous sweep. Every reference is meant to follow the Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed.) with footnotes, yet I can already see inconsistencies in formatting, numbering, and source details. I also suspect a few quotations were left without proper attribution.

You will receive:
• a single Word document (≈ 25,000 words) containing all current footnotes
• a complete source list exported from Zotero (RIS and .docx)

What I need you to do:
1. Scan every footnote for accuracy, completeness, and Chicago-compliant formatting.
2. Insert missing citations where quotations, paraphrases, or data points lack them.
3. Standardise punctuation, italics, ibid./short-form use, and page-ranges.
4. Cross-check each footnote against the reference list; add any missing bibliographic entries and remove any that are never cited.
5. Deliver a clean copy with tracked changes plus a final “accept-all” version.

Acceptance criteria
• Zero style deviations when checked against the Chicago Manual (17th ed.).
• All quotations and borrowed ideas footnoted.
• No orphaned or duplicated references.

Familiarity with Chicago, Word track-changes, and citation managers such as Zotero or EndNote will make this task smooth. Turnaround within one week is ideal, but let me know if you need a little longer—accuracy is non-negotiable.
