Understanding The Current Australian Drug Epidemic Through First-Hand User Accounts
Budget: $100 – $120 USD
I’m looking for Australian-based interviewers to conduct semi-structured audio or video surveys with consenting and current adult cocaine users in major cities (especially Sydney). You’ll explore how participants fund their habits, balance housing costs, and navigate daily life under the current drug epidemic.
After identifying consenting volunteers, you’ll conduct a 10–25 minute interview using the attached survey paper and collect each participant’s name (real or chosen) and phone number. I will need to verify the interviewees by phone before releasing payment to either of you. This project is for one interview—top performers will be invited to an ongoing engagement (multiple slots available) for regularly finding and interviewing new substance abuse volunteers. Ideal candidates would have access to multiple willing participants. Videos may be submitted to a university research center.
Interviews
-Ensure participants understand that interviews are voluntary, confidential, that no identifying criminal activity is requested, and that they can receive their interview fee (listed below) after verifying their responses with me over the phone (requires their phone number).
-Obtain consent from each participant allowing their anonymized responses to be used in an academic report.
-Collect the participant’s real/chosen name and phone number for verification purposes.
-Conduct a 10–25 minute audio or video interview using the provided list of questions for each participant. Long audio and video interviews are preferred.
Deliverable
-An audio or video recording of each interview, accompanied by completed Survey Paper which includes filling out participant’s name/pseudonym and general sociodemographic info (gender, city, year of birth).
