Python Script for Bulk DOI PDF Retrieval

Job ID: 39131836

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I need of a Python script that can download freely accessible PDF papers, based on a list of DOIs. There are multiple possible sources, and several will be needed to reach a good coverage of what is available. For instance, one could use links shared from Google Scholar, or directly download from ResearchGate or other repositories that host public PDFs. The task is to download from the best sources, that are easiest to interface, and have a high hit-rate for any given computer-science related paper.

Key Requirements:
- The script should be able to handle multiple papers (based on their DOIs) at once.
- The input will be a CSV/text file containing the DOIs.

Ideal Skills:
- Proficient in Python, with experience in web scraping and working with APIs.
- Familiar with academic sharing websites and potential download limitations, or eager to learn.
- Able to write clean, understandable code with appropriate error handling.

The use of LLMs is encouraged, as long as the results are checked and reliable. Let me know if you have previous experience with this.
