Ableton Setup & Hardstyle Coaching

I already own Ableton Live 12 Suite – it’s downloaded, but I want the entire application, its factory library, and any added content living neatly on my external SSD. The first step I need from you is a real-time walk-through of the proper installation and file-management workflow so nothing ends up scattered across my main drive.

Once Ableton is sitting on the SSD, the priority shifts to expanding its sonic palette. I’d like you to guide me through locating, downloading, and installing beginner-friendly presets and third-party plugins – specifically synthesizers, effects, and samplers that work well for Hardstyle. I’m comfortable buying or downloading free packs; I just need to understand where each file type belongs and how to avoid common path errors so Ableton sees everything on launch.

With the technical foundation sorted, we’ll move into a hands-on coaching session inside the DAW. I don’t expect a finished track; what I’m after is a repeatable workflow for crafting the core Hardstyle elements:

• Layered, punchy kicks (distortion chains, pitch envelopes, transient shaping)
• Driving basslines that lock to the kick
• Energetic off-beat hats and screech leads
• Catchy melodic hooks and basic arrangement tips
• Quick shortcuts and quality-of-life settings in Live 12 that speed things up

By the end of our time together I want to open a fresh project, load my new sounds, and build a kick-bass loop, a short drop, and a melody without second-guessing where anything is located.
