Abaqus DEM Model Setup Support

This project focuses solely on the model-setup phase of a Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulation in Abaqus. I already have the physical problem defined; what is missing is a clean, simulation-ready model. Your job is to open Abaqus/CAE, configure the DEM contacts and particle interactions, assign materials, and prepare all steps so I can run the analysis without further tweaking.

You will start from either neutral CAD geometry or a simple sketch that I will supply, then:

• build or import the geometry,
• create and seed the discrete particles,
• define contact laws and boundary conditions,
• assign material properties and time-step controls,
• save and deliver a fully functional .cae and corresponding .inp file, plus a short note explaining key assumptions and where to adjust parameters if needed.

No post-processing or result interpretation is required at this stage; the deliverable is a model that runs without errors and is ready for me to launch DEM analyses immediately after hand-off. If you regularly work with Abaqus’ DEM plug-ins or have scripted model generation in Python, please reflect that experience in your bid—speed and reproducibility will be valued.
