Traditional Poolside Entertaining Design
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I’m planning a welcoming, family-focused entertaining zone beside our pool and need a designer who can translate my ideas into a clear plan I can hand straight to my builder. The space must feel timeless and traditional, with all elements working harmoniously around day-to-day family gatherings.
Core elements I want incorporated
• A generous seating area that encourages conversation and supervision of children in the pool.
• Purpose-built cooking facilities featuring a dedicated bay for a Gozney pizza oven plus a built-in BBQ.
• An outdoor fireplace that becomes the evening focal point and extends our use of the space through cooler months.
The layout will sit immediately adjacent to the pool coping, so circulation, safety and sight-lines are critical. I’m open to classic materials—think brick, stone, timber and soft lighting—and I’d love guidance on weather protection and storage without breaking the traditional aesthetic.
Deliverables
• Scaled site plan with hardscape, cooking station, fireplace and furniture placement.
• Mood board (materials, colours, fittings).
• 3D visual or rendered elevations that show how the area marries with the existing pool.
• Basic specification sheet I can forward to trades (appliances, recommended finishes, key dimensions).
Acceptance criteria: all three core elements are present, dimensions respect the current pool footprint (I’ll provide a PDF of the site survey) and the pizza-oven bay is sized for a standard Gozney.
