SOLIDWORKS 3D Modeling, Technical Drawings & Fabrication Cut Lists – Custom Material Handling Carts (x2)

Job ID: 40373129

Budget: $30 – $250 CAD

Project Overview:
We require a skilled SOLIDWORKS designer to fully model two (2) custom-built material handling carts based on provided specifications and reference drawings. The deliverables include complete 3D assemblies, production-ready technical drawings, and machine-specific cut lists for tube laser, sheet laser, and press brake operations.

Scope of Work:
Cart Specifications:
• Cart #1 – 80 inches length
• Cart #2 – 112 inches length
• Both carts are identical in design except for length
Key Design Features to Model:
• Welded steel frame with closed-off front on bottom frame
• Full solid bottom sheet (flat plate on top of base frame)
• 4-way forklift pockets integrated into base
• 3 vertical uprights per cart, angled backward (so hung parts lean into the uprights)
• 6 horizontal adjustable pegs per cart (1” round tube slotting into holes in uprights made of 1-1/2” or larger square tubing)
• Peg stoppers to prevent parts from falling during forklift transport
• Swivel caster wheels with locks on handle side; fixed wheels with locks on opposite side
• All uprights and pegs to be modeled with rubber sleeve/cover allowance
• Paint color: RAL 5017 (Traffic Blue) – apply in SOLIDWORKS appearances
Upright & Peg Construction Note:
• Uprights: 1-1/2” (or larger) square tubing with drilled holes at regular intervals
• Pegs: 1” round tube slotting into upright holes (or 1-1/4” round tube welded onto uprights if additional support is needed)

Required Deliverables:
1. SOLIDWORKS Files
• Full parametric part files (.SLDPRT) for all individual components
• Assembly files (.SLDASM) for each cart
• Design should allow easy length modification between Cart 1 and Cart 2
2. Technical Drawings (.SLDDRW / PDF)
• Complete assembly drawing with overall dimensions and BOM
• Detail drawings for non-standard/fabricated parts
• All views, sections, and callouts required for fabrication
• GD&T and weld symbols where applicable
3. Cut List / Nesting Data – Tube Laser Machine
• All square and round tube members listed by: profile size, material, length, quantity
• Include any hole patterns, notches, or end cuts required
• Format compatible with standard tube laser import (Excel/CSV preferred)
4. Cut List / Nesting Data – Sheet Laser Machine
• Flat sheet parts (base plate, any gussets, peg stoppers, etc.) exported as DXF files
• Cut list with: part name, material, thickness, quantity, and flat dimensions
5. Press Brake Program Data
• Bend drawings for any sheet metal parts requiring forming
• Flat pattern DXFs with bend lines and bend notes (direction, angle, radius)
• K-factor and material thickness to be specified per part

What We Provide:
• This written specification document
• Reference engineering drawing (provided as PDF with front/side views and key dimensions)

Ideal Candidate:
• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS (assemblies, weldments, sheet metal environments)
• Experience with fabrication drawings and weldment cut lists
• Familiar with tube laser, sheet laser, and press brake output requirements
• Attention to detail – deliverables will go directly to production

Delivery: Please propose your timeline. Accuracy and completeness are prioritized over speed.
Budget: Open to proposals – please quote per cart or for the full project.
