Prestashop Automatic Product-Based Order Separation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Project: Automatic Order Separation by Product
Context
Our shop uses PrestaShop 1.7.8, and we need to improve our logistics by automatically separating orders. Currently, orders are only separated based on the carriers, but we want a more granular separation.
Objective
Develop a solution that automatically creates a separate order for each product when a customer orders multiple items at the same time.
Functional Specifications
Each product ordered should generate an individual order in the back office.
All orders from the same cart should share a common reference or be linked in a way that allows easy identification.
Shipping fees should be applied to all orders based on the price of shipping for the product.
The customer experience should not be negatively affected (no confusion during payment).
Possible Technical Approaches
We have considered several solutions:
Override of the PaymentModule class (validateOrder).
Override of the OrderController.
Development of a dedicated module using the appropriate hooks.
The freelancer may propose the most stable and suitable approach based on our context.
Expected Deliverables
Commented source code, ready for deployment.
Full testing ensuring compatibility with our installation.
Post-implementation support period to fix any potential bugs.
Additional Information
Exact PrestaShop Version: 1.7.8.10
Average daily orders: 100
Average products per order: 3
Desired Deadline
2 days
