PLC programming needed for existing project

We bought a machine that was programmed using Emerson PAC Machine Edition. We need to make some minor changes to the programming to adjust how the programming would function. No additional hardware would be necessary.
This is for a cardboard baler. The current program has a setting for time. Changing this setting changes the amount of time that the baler compresses material. For example, when set to 12seconds, the baler will compress for 12 seconds and then retract, and will repeat until max pressure is reached. When the baler reaches max pressure before the specified time, then it shuts off and marks the bale as complete. The CHANGE we would like to have made is that each cycle the baler would reach max pressure, if the max pressure is reached before the allotted time has passed, then notify as a full bale. For example, instead of only compressing for 12 seconds (user modified time variable), it might compress for 19 seconds, until max pressure is attained. Then with added material, the next compression might be for 17 seconds. It would continue until it reaches max compression in less than the input time. So if it reaches full compression and the time elapsed has only been 11.5 seconds, then it would stop and notify of bale full.
