I have a finished 381-page manuscript, trim size 6" × 9", that now needs to be professionally laid out for a hardback edition. Because the book is non-fiction, clear hierarchy, consistent typography, and a clean, authoritative look are essential.
The main task is precise resizing: both the running text and every placed image must be adjusted so they sit comfortably within the hardback margins without crowding the gutter or drifting too close to the trim. Page numbers, headers, and any chapter openers should stay perfectly aligned once the new dimensions are applied.
Once the interior is balanced, I’ll need a press-ready PDF that meets the usual print specifications and an editable source file so I can make future updates if needed. If you typically work in Adobe InDesign, that suits me fine, but I’m open to another professional layout tool as long as the output is equally clean.
