Medical Manuscript Copy-Edit & Formatting
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
My 23,000-word health and medical manuscript needs a professional copy-edit so it is ready for Amazon KDP in both e-book and paperback form. I want every sentence polished for grammar, punctuation, clarity, and tone while maintaining the clinical accuracy of the content.
Beyond the usual copy-edit, two technical tasks are critical. First, every in-text numbered citation must be audited, renumbered where necessary, and matched to a brand-new References section formatted in strict AMA style. Second, chapter and sub-headings should be standardised so KDP can auto-generate a clean Table of Contents; feel free to use proven conventions here because I have no fixed specifications. I do not yet have a stylesheet, so you may create one or suggest an approach that ensures consistency across both e-book flowable layout and the print PDF trim size.
Deliverables
• A fully copy-edited Word (.docx) file, ready to upload to KDP for e-book conversion and for paperback interior.
• An AMA-compliant References/Endnotes section with sequential numbering that matches every in-text citation.
• Correctly styled headings suitable for an automated TOC.
• Confirmation that all elements—tables, images, callouts—render properly in both formats.
To help me choose, please share a brief example or screenshot of reference list work you have handled in either AMA or a similar numbered style. Medical or academic editing experience is essential, and an eye for detail in formatting will make this collaboration smooth and efficient.
