Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in structural modifications, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and counterweight calculations to optimize the design of a long-reach boom. The project involves modifying an existing 21m long-reach boom with a 2.5m³ bucket capacity while ensuring structural integrity and balancing through counterweight calculations.
Key Responsibilities:
Modify the current long-reach boom design to enhance performance and durability.
Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate stress distribution, deformation, and fatigue life.
Calculate the optimal counterweight to maintain machine stability and prevent tipping.
Optimize the boom’s structural geometry to balance weight, strength, and operational efficiency.
Select appropriate materials and validate weldments and joint reinforcements.
Ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
Work with CAD software SolidWorks 2025 for 3D modeling and detailing.
Prepare technical reports and recommendations for design modifications.
