I am looking for a skilled developer to help me with a project that involves detecting pedestrian areas using a maps service like OpenStreetMap. The project must either be in Javascript or PHP or a combination of both.
We are currently developing a mobile game similar to Pokemon Go or Ingress. As a part of this project we need an algorithm that selects geocoordinates which are suitable places for quests or treasures. These places must be accessible by pedestrians. Suitable places are for example: public parks, squares, sideways or shopping areas. On the countryside additionally fields, farm tracks, public meadows etc.
Dangerous (e.g. streets, highways, crosswalks) or prohibited areas (e.g. private property, military installations) as well as places subject to entrance fees must be excluded.
The scope of this project is to develop an algorithm (in Javascript or PHP or a combination of both) which enables us to randomly place a variable number of geographical markers in a selected area (radius around a center coordinate somewhere in the world) but only areas that match the description above. The markers must be evenly distributed within the given area.

Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge and experience with OpenStreetMap (OSM) or similar maps service
- Familiarity with mapping technologies and algorithms for detecting pedestrian areas
- Experience with data analysis and processing large amounts of geographical data

Deliverables:
1. Develop an algorithm that randomly selects a given number of geocoordinates within a given radius of a given center coordinate. The selected locations must meet the requirements described above and must be evenly distributed within the area.
2. Basic user interface with coordinate input, radius input in meters, input for number of desired markers to be placed and a map that shows the result
3. Source code and documentation for the developed algorithms and techniques used in the detection process.
