Design Modular Heel Mechanism
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m developing a casual shoe line that lets wearers switch heel styles on the fly, and I need an industrial designer to create the core mechanism that makes this possible. The heel must lock securely yet release easily so different looks can be snapped on and off without tools. Because the focus is style customization, the system should be slim and visually clean when viewed from the side.

• Material: plastic—keep the parts lightweight, mold-friendly, and ready for mass production.
• Intended footwear: everyday casual shoes rather than formal or athletic models.
• Scope: a basic blueprint and 3D CAD concept that proves the attachment method, shows parting lines, and indicates hardware or snap-fit features. No full prototype is required at this stage.
What I’ll review
• Native CAD file (STEP or SolidWorks preferred) plus a PDF/PNG rendering that highlights how the heel connects and detaches.
• Brief notes on tolerances, suggested resin grade, and estimated heel-change cycle durability.
