Automated Excel Gradebook & Dashboards

Job ID: 39964080

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I need a single Microsoft Excel workbook that I can drop into any new semester, enter the basic course details, paste in a fresh student roster, and watch the entire gradebook populate itself—totals, letter grades, dashboards, everything.

Setup Page
The front sheet should capture only what truly changes from term to term: course name, section, start–end dates, plus the new roster and the grade-category weights. Once that information is in place every other sheet should update automatically.

Dynamic Gradebook
Grades will be entered assignment-by-assignment in structured tables. The workbook must calculate running totals and final letter grades without my touching a formula. I’m fine with pure formulas, data validation, PivotTables, Power Query, or slicers; if a small, well-documented VBA button would streamline a task like clearing last term’s data or duplicating columns, feel free to propose it.

Analytics & Dashboards
A visual grade-distribution chart is the key insight I rely on, so the dashboard should refresh instantly as new scores come in. Additional metrics (top performers, progression over time) can be left as optional placeholders I can enable later.

Print-Ready Student Reports
With a click I want to generate individual performance reports that are tidy enough to hand to each student or save as PDF. Page breaks and print areas should already be set.

Reusability
Semester after semester I’ll open a clean copy, complete the Setup page, and go. No hidden links to prior data, no broken references.

Deliverables (must-haves)
• Excel workbook (.xlsx) with Setup sheet, Gradebook, Dashboard, and Student Report layout
• All formulas, named ranges, tables, and any VBA clearly commented
• Brief user guide explaining how to start a new semester and add assignments

Acceptance
I will test by entering mock data for a new course; the workbook passes if all calculations, charts, and reports update correctly without manual tweaks.

If this build sounds straightforward, let’s get started—I’m ready to review your proposed structure and timeline.
