Project Overview
We're looking for an experienced AI/automation consultant who understands both manufacturing operations and practical AI implementation. Your job is to audit our current workflows and deliver a prioritized roadmap of AI opportunities we can realistically act on — not a theoretical whitepaper, but a concrete action plan with tools, vendors, and ROI estimates.
What We Need
You will review our key operational areas and identify where AI can make the biggest impact, including but not limited to:
Production planning, scheduling, and demand forecasting
Quality control and defect detection on the production floor
Inventory management and supply chain optimization
Accounts payable automation, duplicate invoice detection, and fraud monitoring
Customer service and order management workflows
Distribution routing and logistics optimization
ERP (Acumatica) AI integrations and automation via tools like n8n or similar middleware
Sales and distributor outreach automation
Deliverable: A written AI Opportunity Assessment that includes ranked opportunities by impact and ease of implementation, recommended tools or vendors for each use case, estimated time/cost to implement, and quick wins we can act on immediately.
Ideal Candidate
Proven experience assessing AI/automation opportunities in manufacturing or distribution environments
Hands-on familiarity with tools like ChatGPT/Claude APIs, n8n, Make, or similar automation platforms
Bonus: Experience integrating AI with Acumatica or similar mid-market ERPs
Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
Portfolio or case studies from similar engagements required
