Xbox Controller Back Guide Model

- Context -

I own a company specialized in the sale of custom gaming controllers, focusing on controller modifications through the installation of rear buttons (back buttons) to enhance player performance.

- Project Objective -

To design a physical drilling guide for the precise placement of rear buttons on the Xbox Series S / X controller.
This guide will be used as a drilling template for the controller’s rear shell, ensuring a symmetrical, ergonomic, and repeatable button layout.

- Technical Requirements -

Compatibility

The guide must be designed specifically for the Xbox Series S / X controller.
It must fit securely onto the rear shell with no looseness.

Button Layout

The guide must provide a symmetrical rear button layout.
The final button positions must match exactly the layout that will be attached (reference image provided).
Additional reference images of an existing PS5 controller guide will be provided and should be used as conceptual reference only (not dimensional).

Drilling

The guide must be designed to be used with a 5 mm to 5.5 mm metal drill bit.
The guide holes must act as precise centering points for drilling.

Manufacturing

The guide will be 3D printed, so the design must be optimized for.
The guide should be durable enough to withstand repeated drilling use.

Deliverables

The final file must be delivered in 3MF or F3D (Fusion 360) format.
The design should be clean, well-structured, and ready for printing or minor adjustments.
