Touch-Activated Servo Valve Devices
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I need two identical, self-contained devices that sense a bare-skin tap through a capacitive touch sensor and, via an Arduino-based circuit, drive a pair of small servo motors to twist a horizontal spigot handle roughly 30 °. The job covers the full stack: selecting and sourcing the electronic parts, writing the firmware, fabricating or 3-D printing any brackets or couplers, and shipping the ready-to-mount units to me.
Hardware outline
• Capacitive touch sensor (chosen) feeds an Arduino Nano/Uno or similar.
• Two servos per device—exact model and torque rating we will finalise together once you see photos and measurements of the valve stem.
• Mounting kit: L-brackets, screws, printed collars, or other fixtures so the unit clamps securely without permanent plumbing changes.
• Clean wiring layout with a detachable power lead. Power supply—battery, USB, or mains—is open for discussion; please suggest what best balances convenience and runtime.
Firmware & calibration
Your sketch should debounce the touch input, limit travel to ~30 ° (user-adjustable in code), and include a safety timeout that returns the valve to its original position after a preset period.
Logistics
I am based in Greece and would strongly prefer someone local who can deliver the assembled devices in person or via courier and handle any quick tweaks. Remote builders are welcome if they can commit to clear video demos before shipment.
Deliverables
1. Two fully assembled, tested valve-turning units ready for installation.
2. All source files: Arduino sketch, wiring diagram (Fritzing or equivalent), and any 3-D models/CAD used.
3. A brief setup guide covering mounting, power, and parameter tweaks.
On acceptance the devices must:
• React reliably to a finger touch every time.
• Rotate the handle the specified angle without over-torquing.
• Return to the start position on command or timeout.
• Survive at least 100 consecutive cycles in a bench test.
If this sounds like a build you can confidently complete, let me know your proposed servo models, power strategy, and timeline so we can lock in the details and get started.
