Solid Keycap STL Conversion
Budget: £10 – £20 GBP
I already have an STL model that is currently hollow. I need it re-worked so the body prints completely solid and, at the same time, a standard Cherry-MX style cross must be embedded in the base. The switch I’m using is a generic MX-compatible one, so the usual 4-prong cross will do the job.
The hollow section you’ll be filling is in the 10–20 mm range. Once you are done, the file should be ready for hassle-free PLA printing—no additional slicing tweaks beyond infill settings of my choice.
Deliverable
• One print-ready, manifold STL with the interior filled and the MX cross properly centered and dimensioned.
I’ll test the fit on the switch and verify that the model slices as a solid block without internal gaps before releasing the milestone.
