Prototype Curved E-pée Grip

Job ID: 40222178

Budget: £10 – £20 GBP

I need a one-off curved French grip core for an epée so I can test the fit of the blade. The critical part is the internal channel: I have an stl file, though I can export to other files for when we start. As long as that cavity is spot-on, the exterior can be rougher; cosmetic perfection is not required.

Plastic is the preferred material. I’m happy with whichever grade keeps costs down—PLA tends to be the simplest choice, but if you think ABS, PETG, or another low-cost filament will insert more cleanly over the tang, let’s discuss. Strength only needs to cover the blade being slid in and tightened; it does not have to stand up to full bouts.

I aim to pay around £10-20 for the task based upon quotations that come back with it costing around £3.50 to print but they have a minimum order price, I am happy to discuss paying for the materials separately.

This is for the production of a single piece.

Deliverables
• A single printed prototype shipped to me

Acceptance criteria
• Internal dimensions match my drawing within ±0.1 mm
• Grip can be fitted onto the tang by hand without cracking
• Exterior shape follows the design of the provided model, withing roughly +1mm

If you’re set up for small-run 3D printing and can turn this around quickly, let’s get started—I’ll send the file
