3d Printed & Hand-Painted Solar System Model (scale)
Budget: $500 – $2,000 USD
I'm looking for someone that can 3D print a detailed scale model of the solar system and then hand paint the worlds realistically. The project would involve designing and printing representations of the eight planets, rings (Saturn & Uranus), some moons (Earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune), and dwarf planets (Ceres, Pluto, Eris), and possibly a partial sun.
Looking for someone that is both reputable and reliable, and has experience in 3D modeling, printing, and hand painting. This model will be used for educational purposes in my classroom, so accuracy of scale (diameter) and painting the planets are priorities, but I can provide all of those details and links to surface images for each planet.
Given the general size I'll be aiming for (about 1:700,000,000 scale), this would mean Mercury would be about 0.7 cm, earth would be 1.8cm, most moons and dwarf planets are less than 0.5cm, but Jupiter would be 20cm, and the sun at size scale would be 6.5 feet in diameter. If this is too small a scale for the smaller worlds, could increase to a larger scale (e.g. about 1:500,000,000 scale), which makes most moons the size of Mercury above, Earth jumps to 2.5cm, and Jupiter to nearly 30cm. If a part of the sun is included, that would also need to be to scale and detailed, but I wouldn't do a full sun (unless it was 2D and could be folded up).
Requirements:
- Print and hand paint a resin solar system model (flexible on material, looking for quality and accuracy)
- Planets, moons, and dwarf planets are all separate pieces, but rings should be attached
- Accurate scale (diameter) and surface detail (of size will impact degree)
