3D Printed Electronics Housing Prototype

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I’m developing a consumer-grade enclosure for a new electronics device and need a functional 3D-printed prototype to validate fit, port alignment, and overall ergonomics. The goal is to see how the housing feels in the hand and how well it protects the PCB before I move on to injection-moulded tooling.

You’ll receive my dimensional drawings and reference photos at kickoff. I’d like you to:

• refine or rebuild the CAD model so it prints cleanly (snap-fit lid, ventilation slots, internal standoffs, and cable cut-outs included),
• recommend a sturdy, heat-tolerant filament such as PET-G or PLA+ and the ideal print orientation/support strategy,
• produce one high-quality physical sample and ship it to me, and
• share the slicer profile so I can reproduce the results on my own machine later.

Acceptance criteria
• Internal features hold ±0.2 mm tolerance and the lid snaps closed without play.
• All ports are accessible and centred.
• The print arrives free of warping or major stringing.

Native CAD in Fusion 360 or STEP and the final STL must be included alongside the printed part. Let’s create a prototype that accurately represents the final product’s look and feel so I can push this project into the next phase with confidence.
