Morphing Wing Prototype Design

Job ID: 39843584

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m building a small-scale morphing wing to serve as a working prototype, and I need a CAD-savvy 3D-printing partner who can take the core concept and turn it into a print-ready reality.

Scope of work
• Model the wing’s basic structure in CAD, integrating a straightforward morphing mechanism that can be actuated by hand or a single micro servo.
• Optimise every part for FDM printing—minimal supports, sensible wall thicknesses, and tolerances that suit PLA or PET-G.
• Supply clean STEP and STL files plus a clear, picture-supported assembly guide so I can print, post-process, and put the model together without guesswork.
• Recommend print settings and fasteners (if any) to guarantee smooth morphing movement once assembled.

What I’m looking for in your bid
Your relevant experience—previous morphing wings, deployable structures, or any functional FDM projects that show you know how to balance robustness with ease of printing. A concise note on how you’ll approach the mechanism will help me see we’re on the same wavelength.

I’m keeping the design intentionally simple; no high-resolution surface detailing is required. Efficiency, reliability, and clean documentation are the priorities. If that sounds like your wheelhouse, let’s get this wing flapping.
