High-Detail Statue 3D Scan Cleanup
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m working with a raw 3D scan of a large metal statue and need it transformed into a pristine, print-ready model. The mesh must end up watertight, free of scan artefacts, and refined to a high-detail finish that faithfully matches my reference photos from every angle.
The areas needing the most attention are:
• Facial features – pores, eyelids, lips and subtle asymmetries must be sharpened without looking over-sculpted.
• Intricate textures – hammered metal, ornamental trims and any engraved motifs should read clearly once printed.
• Overall shape and form – correct surface ripples, fill holes and ensure true symmetry where the original design calls for it.
I will supply:
• The raw scan in OBJ format (or your preferred format)
• A full image set showing close-ups and orthographic views for guidance
Your deliverable:
• A single, manifold STL (or split into logical parts if build-volume requires) that slices cleanly for FDM at 0.2 mm layer height without supports buried inside the mesh
• A lightly decimated but detail-rich ZTL/BLEND file so I can re-pose or rescale later
Preferred tools are ZBrush, Blender or Meshmixer—use whatever workflow you’re fastest with as long as the result is accurate and print-ready. If you foresee any wall-thickness or overhang issues, please flag them during cleanup; I’d rather adjust digitally than discover them on the printer.
Once I import your STL into PrusaSlicer and it passes mesh checks with no errors, the job is complete. Looking forward to seeing the statue come to life in plastic first, and metal again later!
