Custom 3D Printer Control Board

We are looking to develop a custom 3D printer control board based on the STM32F401CCU6 MCU, designed for low-cost yet feature-rich applications. The board should support up to 4 stepper drivers (DIP type, compatible with DRV/TMC series), a heated bed, hotend heater, thermistors, 12864 LCD or TFT, filament sensor, BLTouch/Z-probe, and microSD card. All through-hole components are preferred where possible to simplify assembly. The goal is to enable basic Marlin or Klipper compatibility without overcomplicating the design.

You can reuse or adapt open-source designs like Morpheus, SKR DIP, or similar STM-based boards, but the layout must be updated to match F401 pinout and capabilities. Key requirements include over-voltage and over-current protection, use of fuses or TVS diodes, and well-isolated power/driver sections. The board should be as low-cost as possible, both in PCB manufacturing and BOM. More details (pin mapping and power specs) will be discussed during the project.
