Custom EK Civic DIN Shroud
Budget: $10 – $50 AUD
I’m upgrading the dash on my 1998 Honda Civic EK and need a clean-looking double-DIN shroud that fits a 7-inch screen. It must be the version without the side-mounted climate controls—just the center opening for the head-unit flanked by the factory-style vents.
Material & Finish
• Use ABS plastic so the part clips in like OEM and can handle cabin heat.
• Colour: factory-looking black, lightly textured to match the surrounding trim.
Extra Feature
I’d like a slim, integrated phone holder incorporated at the very top where the vents sit. It should hold a modern smartphone securely in both portrait and landscape without blocking airflow.
Fitment & Function
• Exact fit for the 1996-2000 EK Civic centre console.
• 7" (180 × 100 mm) double-DIN opening, flush mount depth to clear standard mechless units.
• Replace vents with phone holder.
• All factory mounting tabs and screw points preserved.
Deliverables
1. Production-ready 3D file, an STL or 3MF for quick 3D-print testing.
2. Dimensional drawing with critical measurements.
3. If you can also supply a finished ABS prototype, quote that separately.
Acceptance will be based on: perfect dash fit, flush screen alignment, and the phone holder remaining rigid under normal driving vibration.
Let me know your approach, experience with automotive interior pieces, and the tools you’ll use (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.).
