3D Bike Rack Battery Tray
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I already scanned my rear rack and can share the mesh with you, along with the approximate footprint of the battery pack it must carry. What I need is a printable, rectangular tray that nests neatly on top of the rack, split into two equal-sized compartments so the battery can sit on one side while the cabling tucks into the other. I will secure everything later with simple elastic straps, so please integrate small through-slots or raised hooks around the perimeter to catch 15 mm wide bands.
The overall length and width only need to respect the space shown in the scan; a few millimetres of tolerance is fine as long as the tray doesn’t overhang the rack. Depth should keep the battery from sliding out when I hit bumps—around 30 mm is what I have in mind, but I’m open to your judgement after you study the model.
I print in PLA on a standard 0.4 mm nozzle, so avoid ultra-thin walls or features that demand exotic supports. A flat underside for bed adhesion would be perfect.
Deliverables:
• Print-ready STL (orientated for minimal supports)
• Native CAD file (STEP or Fusion 360 preferred)
• Brief note on recommended infill, wall count, and strap size compatibility
I’ll send the rack scan and battery dimensions as soon as we start. Let me know if you need any extra measurements or photos, and we can iterate once before finalising.
