Stylized Human 3D Character for Video Game
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
We are looking for someone to help fix or remodel a 3D character in our game (screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/JVwXOu0). We currently have a character model, but it has several issues that need addressing. We would be open to recommendations on whether it would be more efficient to modify our existing model or start from scratch. Either way, our priority is to ensure the character supports all necessary functionalities:
* Textured and fully rigged character compatible with standard animations (running, swimming, jumping, sitting, squatting, dancing, etc.)
* Flexible hands for interaction with cockpit controls (flight sticks, yokes, throttles) using VR-hand meshes and bones we have in a separate mesh file
* Blendshapes for facial animations (10-20 to cover all basic emotions and eye and mouth movements)
* Twist bones, especially in the forearms, to avoid pinching at the wrists.
* Flight suit must use a material compatible with color multiplication, allowing us to easily customize its color in the game.
* Compatibility with Unity using Final IK
Optional:
* Different outfits such as a WW2 era flightsuit, swim trunks, etc. At this point we are just curious how much extra cost this would be for future efforts.
Here are the issues we are facing with our current character.
* No twist bones, causing pinching at the wrists.
* Blendshape issues, such as eyes poking through the eyelids in certain configurations.
* Hands are too long for proper interaction with flight instruments; we'd prefer to use the same mesh configuration as we are using for our VR hands in another project, as they work well with our controls. We can provide those for reference.
* Not textured
If this is something you would be able to help us with, I have the following questions:
* Could you provide an estimate for the required work? And how much would it cost for the optional items?
* What is the expected timeline?
* Would it be easier to modify our existing model or recreate it from scratch with the same style as our character (along with any improvements your artist feels are best)?
I can send the character mesh and VR hand files if that is helpful.
