SolidWorks Sheet-Metal Assembly Design Evaluation Test
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
We are a Greek manufacturer of steel lockers, cabinets and shelving systems looking for an experienced SolidWorks Sheet Metal Engineer for a long-term collaboration.
Initial Project
We already have the individual SolidWorks part files.
Your first task will be to:
Review every part for manufacturability
Verify dimensions, clearances and assembly fit
Check sheet metal parameters (thickness, bend radius, K-factor, corner reliefs, etc.)
Correct any design issues that could affect manufacturing
Create a clean, fully defined SolidWorks assembly
Ensure the design is ready for:
Fiber laser cutting
CNC press-brake bending
Welded fabrication
Once the assembly has been approved, the project will continue with:
Refining existing parts
Designing new sheet metal components where required
Creating production-ready manufacturing drawings
Generating structured BOMs
Organizing the SolidWorks project into a logical file structure suitable for long-term production use
Paid Evaluation Task
Before awarding the full project, shortlisted candidates will complete a small paid evaluation task (approximately 3–5 hours).
The evaluation will involve reviewing several existing parts and assembling them according to our manufacturing standards.
The selected engineer will continue with ongoing work after successful completion.
Required Experience
Please apply only if you have real manufacturing experience with:
SolidWorks Sheet Metal
Welded assemblies
Fiber/CNC laser cutting
CNC press-brake bending
Flat patterns
Bend deduction / Bend allowance
K-factor
Corner reliefs
Production drawings
BOM creation
Experience with metal lockers, cabinets, industrial equipment or similar fabricated sheet metal products is highly preferred.
