SolidWorks Modular Steel Panel Design
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I have a concept for a transport-friendly modular structure built entirely from steel sandwich panels, intended to serve interchangeably as a mobile home or office. What I need now is a full SolidWorks model that goes beyond simple layouts: every panel, frame member, connector, hinge, and fastener must be detailed so the shop floor can cut, fold, and assemble with zero guesswork.
Scope
• Model the primary steel frame, roof, floor, and wall sandwich panels, showing accurate thicknesses, core, and sheet gauges.
• Integrate doors, windows, interior partitions, and service chases exactly where they belong in the module.
• Design all joining hardware and lifting points to withstand repeated relocations.
• Generate exploded views, BOM, and weight summaries so logistics teams can plan transport and on-site assembly.
Deliverables
1. Native SolidWorks *.SLDASM and *.SLDPRT files (2021 or later)
2. STEP/IGES exports for CNC and laser cutting vendors
3. Fabrication drawings: orthographic views, weld symbols, GD&T, and part numbers
4. Assembly instructions with clear sequencing visuals
Acceptance
A quick visual review meeting (screenshare or recorded walkthrough) will confirm fit, clearances, and panel nesting. Once any punch-list items are closed, final files are released and milestone marked complete.
If you already have a library of parametric steel profiles, send a brief note describing it; that could shorten the iteration cycle.
