Sketchup Model Cleanup ( Repeat Work)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Create a schematic model from the conceptual model provided.
Use the model named "Sample Model" as a reference The sample model IS EXACTLY HOW I WANT THE NEW MODEL TO BE MADE.
Good practice is to copy elements into the new file as you go. Purge all non standard layers and junk components after copying elements into the model; 3d components MUST HAVE A 2D representation of it within the component. on a 2D layer.
This is an audition I'm looking for new production staff.
Isolate and organize building elements and systems into logical groups and components.
Note: use components where ever grouped elements will be or can be repeated in the model. use groups for one off configurations and elements.
Assign all model groups and components a layer
Only groups and components should be on a layer. Simple lines and geometry within a group/component should be left on a default layer
Layer designations are organized by discipline, building system, and modifier. for example A-Wall-Ext
Disciplines are A=Architecture, C=Site, D=Demolition, E=Electrical, P=Plumbing. See the attached document AIA Layering standards
Set up Schematic Views
Plans: Create section markers that cut the model at (4) feet above each floor level in the model. Scenes are to be created for each level with the camera aligned perpendicular to the floor. The camera must also be set to orthogonal projection. The style for the scene will be hidden line with the section fill turned on. Fill color should be white.
Sections: Create a section marker that cuts the model longitudinally as well as one transverse section through the model. The camera should be aligned perpendicular to each section cut and the camera must be set to orthogonal projection. The style for the scenes will be hidden line with the section fill turned on. Fill color should be white.
Elevations: Create scenes that display the North, East, South, and West elevations of the building model. The camera should be aligned perpendicular to each elevation and the camera must be set to orthogonal projection. The style for the scenes will be hidden line.
Perspective View: Create one project perspective scene that includes the main entrance of the building.
