Inspiration and Aesthetic Goals
This project draws on the aesthetic and dynamic potential of geometric forms to explore visual transitions and transformations between shapes. Inspired by minimalism and abstract digital art, I chose to create three variations of shape movement using circles, triangles, and squares as my foundational elements. Each variation expresses different characteristics of these shapes, such as fluidity, rigidity, and color dynamics. My goal was to explore how distinct methods of interpolation can alter the viewer's perception of basic forms, giving them unique identities within each visual output.

Approach 1: Color-Based Interpolation (Static Image)
The first approach centers on a static image that highlights the evolution of shapes through a gradient color transition. The shapes smoothly transition from one color to another, emphasizing the influence of color in perceiving form and depth. By positioning the shapes in overlapping arrangements and applying a color spectrum that moves from warm to cool tones, this interpolation evokes a transformation that suggests warmth fading into coolness, illustrating color's storytelling potential.

Approach 2: Morphing Shapes (Animated GIF)
For the second approach, an animated GIF demonstrates a morphing movement where each shape fluidly transitions into the next. The circle gradually shifts into a triangle, then into a square, creating a looping animation. This approach focuses on the structural transformation of shapes, highlighting shared geometry and suggesting unity among distinct shapes. The animation invites the viewer to see each form not as separate but as part of a continuous transformation.

Approach 3: Perspective Shift (Short Video)
The final approach is a short video where the shapes rotate in three-dimensional space, exploring how perspective affects form. The shapes move along different axes and vary in scale, adding a dynamic quality to the piece. This exploration of perspective highlights how form can be reshaped and reinterpreted depending on viewpoint, creating an immersive and dimensional effect that contrasts with the previous flat and fluid styles.

Technical Achievements and Challenges
This project was created using Photopea for color blending and shape alignment, DaVinci Resolve for animation sequencing, and Blender’s compositor for perspective transitions. Each tool brought unique possibilities but also presented challenges. Integrating different formats and tools required careful adjustments to maintain visual consistency across each piece. Additionally, achieving smooth transitions in the morphing animation required precision in anchor points and timing. Despite these challenges, each output effectively communicates distinct movement techniques, demonstrating technical growth and adaptability in exploring shape transformations.
