SPM Mechanism Design & Simulation
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I’m upgrading a power press and drill machine with a dedicated SPM that will pick components, position them, carry out assembly steps, then return them for the next drilling or pressing stroke—all without human touch.
To make this happen I need a mechanical designer who can deliver a fully functional 3D working model in Siemens NX.
What I’ll hand over
• Machine envelopes, stroke data and a rough sequence of operations.
• Preferred actuators and any existing part geometry.
What you’ll create
• A clean, parametric NX assembly of the entire mechanism, including linkages, grippers, slides and guards.
• Motion simulation of one complete cycle covering both material-handling and assembly operations, with collision-free verification.
• Native NX files plus STEP for sharing with my fabrication vendor.
Acceptance criteria
• The simulated cycle runs end-to-end inside the press/drill envelope with no interferences.
• All joints, constraints and part references rebuild error-free.
• I can tweak key dimensions (stroke length, pitch, part thickness) and the model updates cleanly.
If you’ve built pick-and-place units, indexing fixtures or any press-mounted SPMs in NX, I’d love to see similar work. Once the 3D CAD is approved, we can discuss 2D detailing as a follow-on.
