Rugged Enclosure CAD Design for Environmental Devices
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
CAD Design for Rugged IP67/IP68 Enclosure – Climate Tech Hardware Devices
We are CLIMMATECH PRIVATE LIMITED, a climate-tech startup incubated at IIT Mandi, building real-time environmental monitoring and early warning systems.
We are looking for an experienced mechanical/CAD designer to design industrial-grade, rugged enclosures for our hardware devices used in harsh outdoor conditions (rain, dust, wind, remote deployments).
The goal is to develop deployment-ready, waterproof (IP65–IP68 level) enclosures that are suitable for 3D printing (ASA) and future manufacturing.
Scope of Work
The selected freelancer will:
Review existing design concepts (if provided) and suggest improvements
Design complete CAD enclosures for 3 devices:
Pravaah (river monitoring device)
Doordrishti (multi-sensor monitoring unit)
Tarang (compact sensing unit)
Ensure:
Proper sealing design (gasket/O-ring/cable glands)
Electronics integration (PCB, battery, sensors)
Outdoor mounting system (pole/wall mounting)
Optimize designs for:
ASA 3D printing
Manufacturing feasibility
Easy assembly and maintenance
Perform basic FEA / structural validation (mounting, load conditions)
Suggest design improvements for IP rating and certification readiness
Deliverables
Complete CAD files (STEP + STL)
Assembly-ready designs with proper tolerances
Sealing and waterproofing design approach
Mounting system design
Basic FEA / validation report
Design documentation (short but clear)
Requirements
Strong experience in SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Creo
Prior work on:
Enclosures / product design
Waterproof / outdoor systems
Understanding of:
IP ratings (IP65/IP67/IP68)
Mechanical design for electronics
3D printing constraints
Bonus (Preferred)
Experience with rugged/industrial products
Knowledge of cable glands, gaskets, sealing systems
Experience with hardware startups / prototyping
Timeline
Duration: ~1-2 weeks
Milestones will be defined (design → iteration → finalization)
Important Notes
This is not a basic CAD job — we are building real-world deployable hardware
We prefer candidates who think in terms of deployment, durability, and real-world constraints, not just modeling
You may be asked to complete a small test task before final selection
