Revit Exporter Project Description
I am looking for a skilled freelancer to help me with a Revit exporter project. The ideal candidate should have experience with Revit 2024 and be familiar with the following requirements:
File Format:
- The exported files need to be in DXF format.
Purpose of Exported Files:
The purpose of the exported files is to import them into another specific software. The 3D model files need to have all entities "exploded", otherwise it won´t be imported correctly (it´s an outdated software where it will be imported).
The workflow we were using so far is to export the models from Revit to SketchUp in IFC, explode and clean up all the triangulation lines and save it as another DXF file with the options set in the exporter to save only lines, not faces or anything else. This model exported from SketchUp´s DXF exporter can be imported without issues to the software.
We just need the outlines of separate walls and door/window openings to be able to draw on top of it (for creating light gauge steel designs for each wall), without the diagonal triangulation lines that usually get exported when converting to DXF format.
Since in Revit´s standard DXF exporter there is no option to "explode" everything, neither to export only lines, when we try using DXFs directly from Revit it doesn´t work.
I´ll need both a 2024 compiled version of the plugin using Revit´s API in Visual Studio, with a single button on Revit´s interface, and the source code for compiling the plugin here for testing, for updating on future versions and for embedding it with some other tools we are planning in the future (which will be also posted here).
Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Revit 2024 is essential.
- Experience with exporting files to DXF format is required.
- Knowledge of the specific software for importing the files is preferred.
