Revit Model Preparation and Earthquake Evacuation Simulation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Pathfinder Simulation Expert – Revit Model Cleanup and Earthquake Evacuation Setup
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled specialist in Pathfinder evacuation simulation (Thunderhead Engineering) to assist with preparing and configuring a multi-story building model originally developed in Revit. The model has already been transferred to Pathfinder, but it requires technical refinement to be suitable for earthquake evacuation analysis.
Scope of Work:
Model Cleanup & Preparation:
Remove unnecessary imported geometry from Revit (e.g., furniture, non-walkable elements).
Replace non-functional Revit-imported doors with native Pathfinder doors.
Ensure proper placement and function of staircases, doorways, and exit paths.
Evacuation Setup:
Define movement surfaces and ensure navigation mesh continuity.
Create occupant profiles (e.g., adults, elderly) with adjustable parameters (speed, shoulder width, pre-movement time).
Assign exits, waypoints, and evacuation flow logic.
Optionally: Configure simulated blockages or debris zones based on earthquake structural output (guidance provided).
Testing & Validation:
Run basic simulations to ensure all routes are passable.
Provide visual and tabular output to confirm simulation logic.
Deliverables:
Clean, functional Pathfinder project file.
All occupants, doors, and stairs configured correctly.
A short report or video walkthrough confirming that the model is simulation-ready.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience with Pathfinder simulation software.
Strong understanding of Revit-to-Pathfinder workflows.
Familiarity with occupant behavior modeling in emergency scenarios.
Background in structural, fire, or safety engineering is a plus.
Files & Support:
Revit model or pre-exported Pathfinder geometry will be provided.
Structural drift or damage data (ETABS) can be shared for configuring debris zones if needed.
You will have access to a civil/structural engineer for technical clarifications.
Deadline:
We are looking to complete this task within 7–10 days of project start.
