Production CAD Drawing for Mechanical Device
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I have a mechanical device already modelled in AutoCAD-based 3D files and now need to translate those concepts into fully manufacturable CAD documents. The goal is to arrive at a clean, cost-effective design package that a machine shop or contract manufacturer can pick up without questions.
Your role is to review my existing AutoCAD models, suggest any geometry or tolerance tweaks that would lower machining or assembly costs, and then generate a complete set of production drawings. I’m looking for:
• Fully dimensioned, fabrication-ready drawings (orthographic views, sections, detail call-outs)
• Exploded assembly views with fastener specifications
• A simple, clearly formatted bill of materials linked to each drawing
• Neutral-format exports (STEP, IGES, PDF) so I can share with multiple vendors
To keep things agile, we’ll work iteratively: you flag manufacturability concerns, I approve or adjust, and we lock each revision before you move on to the next component. Final acceptance will be a zipped package that passes a quick DFM check with my preferred shop (I’ll share their guidelines when we start).
If you live and breathe AutoCAD (or can natively import my DWG/DXF into your preferred CAD tool without loss), are comfortable advising on machining tolerances, and enjoy shaving unnecessary cost out of clever designs, I’d love to work with you.
