3D Print Prototype Design -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
Description:
I’m looking for an experienced software developer to create a custom application or script that allows for easy generation and export of 3D-printable models (e.g., STL files) of JIC (Joint Industry Council) and ORF (O-Ring Face Seal) hydraulic fittings. These will be used for prototyping and fitment checks in a workshop environment.
Key Requirements:
• Ability to model industry-standard hydraulic fittings (including thread types such as UNF and UN)
• User-friendly interface to select fitting size, thread type, and configuration
• Export to STL or other 3D printing-compatible file formats
• Incorporate SAE standards and tolerances
• Option for customization of dimensions if needed
• Experience with CAD automation, parametric modeling, or 3D geometry scripting (e.g., in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, OpenSCAD, or Blender)
Ideal Candidate:
• Strong background in CAD modeling and software development
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems and fittings
• Can work collaboratively to test and iterate based on real-world use
• Communicates clearly and delivers clean, well-documented code
This tool will be used in a trade setting to quickly generate accurate, printable models for test-fitting hydraulic connections. If you have relevant experience, I’d love to discuss the project in more detail.
