Prediction model for dispersion of hazardous chemicals in the air is to be done through development of mathematical model and simulation -- 3
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I. Problem statement- Prediction model for dispersion of hazardous chemicals in the air is to be done through development of mathematical model and simulation. The simulation model should be 3D with colourful mixing of the gases and flow of the hazardous chemical in the atmosphere. Concentration level of the chemicals should be shown on the map by different colour contours. Other parameters like concentration, flow rate, rate of mixing of the chemical in the air, temperature, wind speed and direction, humidity, roughness, topography, that longitudinally stretch the mixer slick etc can be considered for development of the model. it should be able to simulate dispersion of chemical agents based on the different meteorological conditions specified for urban areas.
II Objective: To develop a mathematical model and simulation (3D) for prediction of hazardous chemical dispersion in the air with the time scale using CFD(ANSYS) and MATLAB By considering the input like meteorological data, map of India for topography, chemical properties of the hazardous chemicals etc.
III. Methodology:
1. Consider a standard mathematical model (3D) for dispersion of the chemicals (Lagrangian /eulerian puff/plume model) in the air by adding other required parameters like chemical properties, topography and weather conditions etc are to be considered and develop governing equations. Dispersion of the chemicals should be based on its concentration levels of the chemicals considering different wind speed and directions, temperature, humidity, raining, etc. Simulation of output should be s on the map with proper spatial data (location) on the map considering longitude and latitude.
2. Consider boundary conditions and initial conditions
3. The model equations should be solved using a FDM technique with a grid length defined by an incremental distance and numerical methods for the good no of iterations to predict better results.
4. Simulation of the final equations considering the changing of the parameters like changing of release source hight, amount of the chemical, wind direction along with meteorological data etc. the contours of the output with different colours should be drawn on the map in considering with the time scale based on the concentration of the chemicals.
5. The results obtained through CFD(ANSYS) and in MATLAB should show good agreement with each other for validation
IV. Deliverables:
1. Deliverables should be in the form of mathematical model its solutions and simulation results, graphs generated and animation of simulation.
2. The executable / implementation files to be handed over to me.
3. A presentation to be made showing the development of mathematical model and its simulation with different varying parameters results along with graphs
4. The developer should make a video explaining how the work was carried out with commentary
Note: Any inputs required apart from above may be taken from me.
