Precision 3D CAD Modeling for Docking Station
Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP
I need an experienced CAD professional to create production-ready 3D models for a precision docking/charging station. This product will be injection molded and will contain an electronic component (2 versions) plus a number of USB cables. USB ports and cable entry will be required. The station will have 5 'nests' each of which will house a separately manufactured sub-dock, which will be secured in the nest and connected via a usb cable to the electronic component. Six pillars containing threaded inserts will be part of the product as well as strengthening webs and ideally cable management features as necessary.
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Experience with injection-molded products
- Ability to create highly detailed models including texture and aesthetics
- Familiarity with STL file format
- Strong attention to detail and precision

Deliverables Required
Phase 1: Qualification (48 Hours)
Basic 3D concept model from provided sketches
Main docking station in red (pillar-box red or similiar). Sub-docks in white
Screenshots showing your modeling approach
This serves as your practical test - no payment for this phase
Phase 2: Development (If Phase 1 accepted)
Detailed STP files with all features and specifications
First iteration with 2 working days for feedback incorporation
Second iteration optimized for 3D printing (STL files)
Assembly interference checking with provided sub-dock files
Phase 3: Production Files
Final production-ready STP files optimized for injection molding
Proper draft angles (minimum 0.5°)
Manufacturable wall thicknesses
Parting line positioned at lower outer edge
Files suitable for tooling manufacturer
