Portable Generator SolidWorks Design

Job ID: 40352681

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I need a full mechanical concept and production-ready CAD package for a portable generator intended primarily for emergency backup use. Everything has to be created from the ground up in SolidWorks: frame, engine integration, fuel tank, cooling path, exhaust routing, mounting hardware, vibration isolation, control-panel cut-outs, protective enclosure—essentially the complete mobile generator assembly.

Key objectives
• Compact footprint and balanced weight distribution for easy roll-around handling
• Service-friendly layout (quick access to oil, air filter, spark plug, fuel lines)
• Adequate cooling airflow without breaching rain-proofing or safety clearances
• Noise and vibration kept within typical residential backup limits
• Drawings detailed enough for fabrication, welding, and outsourced sheet-metal cutting

Deliverables
1. Native SolidWorks 3D master assembly with properly named/structured parts
2. Fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings (PDF + DXF/DWG)
3. Exploded-view and BOM for purchasing and assembly
4. Simple stress/deflection checks or design notes showing frame robustness
5. A brief design guide explaining maintenance points and lifting/tilting limits

Acceptance criteria
• All files open error-free in SolidWorks 2021 or newer
• Clearances allow installation of a common small-engine block (spec to be shared once NDA signed)
• BOM items are either catalogue hardware (metric) or sheet/plate profiles readily cut and bent

If you have prior examples of generator or small engine equipment you’ve modeled, I’d like to see them to speed up selection. Let’s get this emergency-ready unit engineered.
