1964 Porsche Bumper Overlay
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I already have high-resolution reference photos and a full 3D scan of the original 1964 Porsche rear bumper. What I need now is a clean hard-surface model of an add-on overlay that hugs that scan perfectly while introducing the extra design cues shown in the references, namely subtle grooves and ridges that modernise the classic profile.
Your task is to translate those references into production-ready geometry. The mesh must be watertight, free of artefacts, and organised logically so that any detached pieces (if the design calls for them) are clearly named and separated. A background in automotive parts or similar precision fit work will make this project easier because the overlay has to drop straight onto the stock bumper without modification.
I work primarily in Blender, so a native .blend file is ideal, but I am happy with high-quality exports from other professional packages as long as nothing is lost in translation. The finished model may move on to 3D printing, so manifold geometry and even wall thicknesses are critical.
Please highlight your relevant experience with automotive or tight-tolerance hard-surface projects. I am aiming to wrap the modelling phase up within a month and will be responsive with feedback throughout.
Deliverables
• Native project file (.blend preferred)
• STL and OBJ exports
• Clean, watertight geometry suitable for 3D printing
• Separate, logically named parts if the design requires it
