Personal Umbrella Product Development Needed
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m working on a new umbrella intended for everyday personal use and need a product developer who can guide it from early concept to prototype-ready design.
What I already have:
• A rough idea of the look, size and a few special convenience features I want to incorporate.
What I need from you:
• Refine the concept, then create detailed CAD models (SolidWorks or similar) and clear manufacturing drawings.
• Advise on practical materials, hinge and rib mechanisms, handle ergonomics and surface coatings so the umbrella is light yet durable.
• Source or recommend off-the-shelf components where it makes sense, and flag custom parts that will need tooling.
• Prepare a concise bill of materials and, if possible, suggest prototyping vendors or rapid-manufacture options.
Acceptance criteria:
1. Final 3D files open cleanly in the agreed CAD package and show full assembly.
2. Drawings include all critical dimensions and tolerances for manufacturing.
3. BOM lists each part, material, finish and projected MOQ pricing.
